This is a nice cast iron example of the classic Mechanical bank. A little worn, but everything seems original.

• Fact 1: The mechanical bank was patented in 1869 and was designed to promote saving by children.
• Fact 2: The term "Uncle Sam" was coined by meat-packer Samuel Wilson
• Fact 3: It was a joking reference to the "U.S" stamp on crates of military rations
